Founded in 1981 by Eglal Farhi, this landmark club has hosted some of the world's greatest jazz and world music artists, including Nina Simone, Chet Baker, Dizzy Gillespie, Archie Shepp, Erik Truffaz, Max Roach and Prince.

Le New Morning has been the most famous jazz venue in Paris for the past 40 years. In fact, this former printing works for the newspaper Le Parisien is a venue on a human scale, accommodating no more than 500 people in the audience, producing top-quality concerts in a warm, intimate atmosphere.
Indeed, this was the wish of its founder, a former journalist of Egyptian origin and jazz enthusiast. However, this unique concert hall in Paris is not only dedicated to jazz music, and since its inception has opened its doors to a wide range of musical horizons.
Open to all music lovers, the New Morning offers a varied program ranging from blues and rock to soul and world music. The big name of pop and funk music, Prince, gave several concerts here, in 1986 and 1987, and again in 2010.
Jean-Jacques Goldman has also performed here, as have Michel Berger and bluesmen such as Taj Mahal and BB King.

Two hundred meters from the elegant Porte Saint-Denis, the New Morning is a concert hall in the heart of the French capital, just a few minutes' walk from our hotel. Not far from the Canal Saint-Martin, but also close to the Grand Rex, the Splendid and the Grands Boulevards, this concert hall is located in a lively cultural district, home to numerous theaters, cinemas and concert halls. Since the 1980s, it has enabled Paris and France to regain world leadership on the jazz scene.
