Raise awareness
- About the challenges of sustainable tourism, environmental protection and CSR
- Our teams are trained to respect eco-gestures in their daily work
- We choose our service providers and suppliers on the basis of their sustainable and social commitments
- We provide our customers with an educational display encouraging eco-actions
- We share information on how to limit car-travel: bike hire, shuttles, public transport
- Our staff is available to meet the specific needs of people with reduced mobility and ensure they have a comfortable and pleasant stay
Save water and energy
- We have installed water efficient devices/pressure reducers on our taps and showers so as not to deplete resources
- We check our water and electricity consumption meters every month to better manage our usage
- We are replacing each light bulb with a LED or low-energy bulb, and have already equipped a majority of our spaces
- We have installed presence detectors/timers in most common areas/hallways to limit energy wastage
Sort & recycle
- We have set up several sorting points in the hotel
- We sort all types of waste: batteries, glass, paper and printer cartridges
- We work with a majority of products in bulk or in large packaging to limit unnecessary packaging
- We have have introduced the CARE ABOUT EARTH eco-responsible range for our welcome amenities, enabling us to do away with plastic miniatures and reduce single-use packaging
- We have set up partnerships with associations that recycle soaps for humanitarian purposes: UNISOAP and YOUTH FOR SOAP collect our soaps, which are then given a second life by disabled people and redistributed to people in need
Prioritize
- We are committed to selecting organic and locally sourced products in our procurement to reduce our carbon footprint and support the local economy
- Most of the products we use to clean our premises are eco-labelled, which means better air quality and fewer health risks
- We offer local and seasonal products on our daily buffet, and we adapt to certain special dietary requirements
The Green Key label
- Green Key is a voluntary eco-certification programme for hotels, hostels, campsites, holiday parks, small accommodations as well as conference centres, attractions and restaurants.
- The Green Key certification is based on compliance with strict internationally recognised criteria in the areas of environmental management (water, energy, waste, cleaning, etc.) and sustainability education (staff, guests, suppliers, etc.).
- Compliance with the criteria is confirmed through a rigorous application process and third-party verified after regular on-site audits. The certification is valid for one year at a time.
- Currently (May 2023), there are more than 4,000 establishments in 60 countries certified with the Green Key.
- Green Key is endorsed by various institutional partners, international hotel chain and tour operator partners and cooperating with a range of web partners.
- The Green Key programme is managed by the international charity, the Foundation for Environmental Education (FEE) and its national member organisations.
